Dr. Irina Akhmetova

Irina Akhmetova has been a specialist at the PtX Lab Lausitz since February 2023 and covers the chemical industry and cross-sectional issues relating to PtL plants. She focuses on technical issues relating to the transformation of the chemical industry, PtL and DAC plants.

Before joining PtX Lab Lausitz, Irina worked as a research assistant at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing. There she focussed on green chemistry, especially mechanochemistry.

Irina holds a doctorate in chemistry. She completed her doctorate at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in the field of general and inorganic chemistry. Her dissertation focussed on the green synthesis of transition metal phosphonates for use as proton conductors or electrocatalysts and the investigation of the underlying structure-property relationships.
