Portrait of Viktoria Erfurt.

Dr Viktoria Erfurt has been a process simulation expert at PtX Lab Lausitz since October 2025. Her specialist focus is on the simulation and optimisation of process engineering processes in the field of power-to-X technologies.

Before joining the Lausitz Lab, she worked for seven years as a project engineer for digital process support at the German Cement Works Association in Düsseldorf – initially in the Environmental and Operational Technology department, and later in the Climate-Neutral Process Technology department. There, as an expert in digitalisation, she developed physical, stationary and dynamic models for simulating cement plants, particularly in the field of high-temperature processes, and worked on projects in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence.

She completed a degree in Computational Engineering Science at RWTH Aachen University, where she subsequently obtained a doctorate in mechanical engineering. Her doctoral thesis was written during her three years as a research assistant at the Jülich Research Centre, Institute for Energy and Climate Research, focusing on degradation effects in reversible oxide batteries (ROB) and solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC).
