Julian Maier

Julian Maier has been an expert at the PtX Lab Lausitz since February 2025 and is involved in the field of Power-to-X in maritime transport.

Before joining the PtX Lab Lausitz, he worked for a year as a student trainee in the Maritime Applications team of the Hydrogen, Alternative Fuels & Fuel Cells division at NOW GmbH, where he supported projects commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport to minimise the climate-damaging and air-polluting effects of shipping and ports.

Prior to this, he worked for several years as a student assistant with teaching duties at the intermodal transport seminar at Technische Universität Berlin.

Born in Berlin, he completed a bachelor's degree in transport systems and a master's degree in naval architecture and ocean engineering at TU Berlin, focussing on the design and operation of maritime systems. His master's thesis focussed on the implementation of a hybrid fuel cell system on various classes of coastal vessels.
