Lukas Horndasch has been an expert for PtX at PtX Lab Lausitz since April 2023. His focus is on advocacy, policy analysis and research for a fair and green market ramp-up of hydrogen derivatives. He is co-coordinator of the research and policy work on Power-to-X in chemistry and sustainability, with a focus on a sustainable and rapid market ramp-up of hydrogen derivatives (methanol, naphtha, olefins, aromatics) and sustainable carbon management with renewable carbon. Additionally, he is involved in the policy analysis of the European and German policy landscape for PtX and hydrogen derivatives.

Lukas Horndasch graduated 2020 as M.Sc. Chemistry at the LMU Munich. During his master's and bachelor's studies he conducted research on the photocatalytic generation of hydrogen, sustainable OLEDs and photoswitches.
 
Over a period of seven years, he campaigned and advocated for climate justice together with Urgewald, Fossil Free München and Climate Action Network Tanzania with a special focus on divestment from fossil fuels and a just-phase- out of fossil fuels.

Before joining the PtX Lab Lausitz, he worked in Tanzania for a year and a half with CAN Tanzania on a just phase-out of fossil fuels (Don’t Gas Africa Campaign), Renewable Energy and Climate Justice.
