Portrait of Marvin Wenzel

Marvin Wenzel has been working in the Technology department at PtX Lab Lausitz since December 2025, focusing on the technology database and the simulation of renewable fuel process paths, as well as the DAC cooperation platform.

He has been working in the field of renewable fuels for over five years. One of his most important positions was at NOW (Renewable Fuels Team), where he worked for around two years. He coordinated the Technology Platform Power-to-Liquid Fuels (TPP) and accompanied the project until it was successfully approved. He also evaluated projects within the framework of the Renewable Fuels funding guideline and created the SAF Monitor in cooperation with CENA Hessen in 2024.

He is an industrial engineer (environment & sustainability) and mechanical engineer (renewable energies). In an extensive one-year master's thesis, he dealt with production paths for hybrid fuels that are produced biologically and based on electricity. The thesis covered the entire value chain from seawater desalination and the provision of waste biomass to the refining of products.

In 2025, he also completed further training in hydrogen technology, covering topics ranging from engineering and legal protection to explosion protection, plant operation and fuel cells to technological evaluation and integration into the electricity market.
