PtX Lab Talk #17: Securing Critical Raw Materials for Green Fuels and Basic Materials of Tomorrow
Copyright: Eric Krueger
How do we secure critical raw materials for the green fuels and basic materials of tomorrow? The focus is on resilient supply chains, geopolitical challenges, and concrete recommendations for a sustainable resource strategy in Europe.
This online workshop focuses on the secure and sustainable supply of Critical Raw Materials (CRM) for Power-to-Liquid (PtL) technologies.
Building upon the results of the PtX Lab study Raw Material Demand and Availability for Net-Zero Aviation, published in January 2025, the Basic Materials team (FG Grundstoffe) will present its latest Policy Briefing. This session expands beyond the technical aspects of PtL technology to deeply explore the social and geopolitical dynamics that characterize the current European discussion on industrial resilience and security of supply.
The briefing provides policymakers and industry leaders with concrete, actionable recommendations. We will discuss how to secure the CRM supply for EU industry, strategically reduce overall demand, and manage resource production in a transparent and sustainable manner.
