Prof. Jörg Steinbach, Minister for Economic Affairs, Labor and Energy of the State of Brandenburg, learned about the current projects and the planned PtL demonstration plant in Lusatia at the Brandenburger Energietag.
With a joint information stand, the KEI and the PtX Lab Lausitz participated in the 23rd Brandenburger Eergietag with an on-site information booth. The annual meeting took place on May 25, 2023 in the rooms of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) and gathered nearly 30 actors from the regional energy industry. Under this year's motto "Shaping the energy transition - opportunities and solutions for the Brandenburg economy", the speakers of the PtX Lab entered into an exchange with the approximately 450 interested parties.
The Brandenburg Minister of Economics, Prof. Dr. Jörg Steinbach, was informed about the current projects by Anita Demuth, the deputy director of the PtX Lab Lausitz. They talked about the planned PtL demonstration plant in Lusatia and the think tank's latest publications - including a study on the development of sustainability standards and an issue paper on the climate impact of air traffic.
Demuth illustrated the current status of the PtL market ramp-up in the Federal Republic using an overview map of existing and planned plants for the production of power-to-liquid fuels in Germany. In doing so, she made it clear how important it is to use renewable energies sustainably and efficiently at the same time. In this way, she also took account of the central theme of the Eergietag namely to highlight opportunities and solutions for the success of the energy transition.
About the Brandenburger Energietag
The Brandenburger Eergietag is the traditional annual meeting of the regional energy industry. It is regularly held under a different motto. The event is organized by the Brandenburg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Energy (MWAE) and co-organized by the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, the Brandenburg State Association of Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the Berlin-Brandenburg Energy Technology Cluster. For the PtX Lab Lausitz it was already the second appearance at the Energietag after 2022.
