Competence centre showcases its combined expertise in Lausitz Magazin
PtX Lab Lausitz has further developed its content and organisational structure, setting the course for its work in the coming years. With a clear structure and four thematic priorities, the competence centre is strengthening its role as a think and do tank for the market ramp-up of climate-neutral power-to-X (PtX) products.
The new orientation reflects the increasing complexity of the transformation: climate-neutral industry, sustainable mobility, technological scaling and political and economic framework conditions must be considered together.
Accordingly, PtX Lab Lausitz is pooling its expertise along these central fields of action, thus creating the basis for integrated analyses, well-founded recommendations for action and practical impetus.
PtX solutions for aviation, shipping and the chemical industry
In terms of content, the focus remains on particularly challenging sectors. These include the defossilisation of the chemical industry and other raw material-intensive industries, as well as the development of sustainable fuel solutions for air and sea transport.
This is complemented by the analysis of technical and economic prerequisites for the ramp-up of PtX technologies – from hydrogen and carbon sources to fuel and raw material synthesis.
Another focus is on supporting the market ramp-up through appropriate political, regulatory and economic framework conditions. At the same time, strategic communication is becoming increasingly important. It makes the transformation visible, promotes knowledge transfer and strengthens dialogue between politics, business, science and the public.
The next steps for PtX Lab Lausitz
Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond, PtX Lab Lausitz plans to further intensify its technical work, expand international cooperation and provide even closer support for specific transformation processes.
From its location in Cottbus, the competence centre will thus continue to provide impetus for climate-neutral industry and mobility – regionally anchored, nationally effective and European networked.
