We are pleased to invite you to PtX Lab Talk #10 in which we will focus on SAF. A reorganisation of the production and supply chains could contribute to their better availability. But is a B&C approach suitable for supporting the market ramp-up?
Content
ReFuelEU Aviation is introducing a blending quota for sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) in the European Union. For a transitional period, SAF suppliers can distribute the available fuel flexibly within the EU. By mid-2024, the Commission must evaluate developments in the production and supply of SAF. The aim is to expand the "flexibility mechanism" if necessary - possibly with elements of a "book-and-claim" (B&C) system. But is such an approach suitable for promoting the market ramp-up of sustainable paraffin? And what other challenges will arise? The PtX Lab Lausitz will discuss this together with experts and also present its own study.
You can expect the following:
- Video statement from Jutta Paulus (European Parliament)
- Arianna Baldo (Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials, RSB)
- Patric Pütz (Smart Freight Centre)
- Anita Demuth (PtX Lab Lausitz)
