Our Publications

In doing so, we make important basics for sector coupling understandable for the general public or show new ways for existing challenges in more in-depth studies. Green hydrogen derivatives such as synthetic ammonia, kerosene or methanol are crucial in the fight against climate change, especially in sectors that are difficult to decarbonise, such as aviation, shipping and the chemical industry. Their use requires clear standards and global cooperation.

In the PtX Lab Briefing ‘Hydrogen Derivatives – Recommendations to Safeguard the Social and Environmental Sustainability of Green Hydrogen Derivatives’ (english version to be availabe from mid Feb. 2025), authors Lukas Horndasch, Nils Fuchs and Anita Demuth et. al. identify concrete steps for the global transition to a climate-neutral economy that does not violate planetary boundaries or human rights.
