Our Publications

In doing so, we make important basics for sector coupling understandable for the general public or show new ways for existing challenges in more in-depth studies. The aim is to strengthen the debate on PtX technologies as a whole and to spur the market ramp-up of synthetic fuels and basic materials. Here we make our content available for download.

Building an infrastructure for alternative fuels

The Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR) plays a key role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in transport and promoting alternative fuels. However, the rules for monitoring and implementation remain weak. Member States are only required to submit a draft of their national strategic framework by the end of 2024, with the final version due by the end of 2025. Progress reports must be submitted every two years from the end of 2027 onwards. The EU Commission will review these reports and may issue recommendations.
