In the PtX Lab Talk, experts discuss the role of sustainable aviation fuels and power-to-liquid kerosene, as well as the measures needed to reduce non-CO2 effects.
Climate-neutral aviation by 2050 is possible, but only with immediate and comprehensive measures. This is the conclusion of aviation experts from the Lusatian Think and Do Tank, Dr Sören Schwuchow and Felix Schmermer. They have examined European climate protection efforts and derived the future consequences for Germany. The focus is on sustainable alternatives to fossil fuels such as sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and power-to-liquid (PtL) kerosene. We discussed these and other topics related to the future of climate-neutral aviation in PtX Lab Talk #11 on 26 September 2024 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Key topics
- The role of SAF and PtL kerosene: How do these fuels contribute to climate neutrality in aviation?
- Non-CO2 effects: Why are measures to reduce these effects crucial?
- Challenges and opportunities: What hurdles do we have to overcome and what opportunities does the substitution of fossil fuels offer?
