On 24 September 2025, PtX Lab Lausitz welcomed a high-ranking delegation from Kuwait to its premises. The guests included representatives of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), a foundation dedicated to the national promotion of science, technology and innovation.

The topics of environment and energy, water security and the economy of the future are particularly important for Kuwait. In order to expand its expertise in these areas, the country is focusing on establishing specialised competence centres where national challenges can be solved through research and development.

The trip to Germany organised by Renewables Academy AG (RENAC) also had this goal in mind. The delegation visited various locations throughout Germany to gather ideas for establishing a hydrogen economy based on power-to-X (PtX) technologies in Kuwait.

The meeting in Cottbus focused on the use of PtX technologies, the necessary transformation processes and the strategic development of international partnerships for establishing a hydrogen economy. Dr Harry Lehmann, Head of PtX Lab Lausitz, outlined the market ramp-up of environmentally friendly and sustainable production and use of PtX products based on green hydrogen.

The Kuwaiti guests, who work in the fields of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and chemistry, already had experience in the use of hydrogen. The discussions therefore quickly deepened into sustainable and focused knowledge dialogues.

The exchange with international guests serves to promote partnerships and knowledge transfer for sustainable industrial development. PtX Lab Lausitz, which focuses on laying the foundations for the sustainable, environmentally friendly production and use of power-to-X products and promoting their rapid and successful market ramp-up, uses such dialogues to strategically build collaborations and gather valuable inspiration for its own ideas.
