Anja Paumen has been an expert at the PtX Lab Lausitz since July 2022, working in the PtX Policy and Market Ramp-Up section.

Pviously, she worked as a freelance science journalist, producing content for ARD radio and television broadcasters and writing for various media outlets. In recent years, she has published two books on climate change with Oekom Verlag: It’s the Planet, Stupid (2015) and Projekt Klimaschutz (2021).

Anja Paumen holds a degree in biology from Freie Universität Berlin. Since then, she has focused primarily on the scientific basis of climate change and on international climate policy.

At the PtX Lab Lausitz, she examines, among other things, how international carbon emissions trading can help reduce aviation emissions. She looks at the interplay between various climate policy instruments, such as the Paris Agreement, the European emissions trading system, and voluntary corporate commitments to reduce CO2 emissions.
