Dr Gilbert Kollenbach

Dr Gilbert Kollenbach has been working as an Economics Specialist in the Mobility Section at PtX Lab Lausitz since April 2026. His focus is on economic analyses and the evaluation and development of environmental policy instruments that support the market ramp-up of PtX technologies and, consequently, the decarbonization of air and maritime transport.

Before joining the PtX Lab Lausitz, Gilbert was active in academia. His most recent positions were as a lecturer at the University of East Anglia and as an assistant professor at the University of Hagen. There, he focused on the economic framework for the expansion of renewable energies, climate policy in an international context, and its coordination.

Gilbert studied economics at the University of Cologne, specializing in public economics and energy economics. He subsequently earned his Ph.D. from the University of Hagen on the topic of economic growth opportunities while adhering to the 2°C climate target.
