Dr Oliver Schöttker joined the PtX Lab Lausitz Team as an Expert for economics in March 2026. His focus is on the economic evaluation of strategies and measures in the context of the PtX market ramp-up and more generally also economic-policy aspects of PtX products and regulation.

Oliver worked as a consultant for topics regarding industry and the environment at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Cottbus before he started at the PtX Lab Lausitz. He was tasked with the representation of interests on the federal-states level and was responsible for topics such as industry development approval regulation, bureaucracy reduction, industry emissions and water regulation.

Before that, Oliver worked as a researcher and lecturer at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg in the field of environmental economics. He focused on the development of ecological-economic models for the evaluation of biodiversity conservation. He also conceptualized and developed policy instruments and decision support software for dairy and grassland agriculture.

Oliver studied Economics at the Universities of Bielefeld and Bonn as well as Computer Science at the University of Hannover, before earning his doctorate in environmental economics at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.
