Ali Elwalily has been working as an expert in the technology department at the PtX Lab Lausitz since February 2026. His work focuses on the techno-economic analysis and evaluation of Power-to-X technologies and sustainable fuel pathways.

Before joining the PtX Lab, he worked in the research field of Power-to-Liquid technologies, where he conducted process simulation and techno-economic assessments of renewable fuel production pathways, including sustainable aviation fuels. Prior to that, he gained experience as a process engineer in the oil and gas industry, contributing to the detailed design and optimization of natural gas treatment and petrochemical facilities.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical and Petrochemical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Sustainable Systems Engineering from the University of Freiburg. His master’s thesis focused on the techno-economic assessment of Power-to-Liquid fuels based on green hydrogen and captured CO₂.
