PtX Lab Lausitz at the AERO 2025: a focus on sustainable aviation

From 9 to 12 April 2025, PtX Lab Lausitz presented itself for the first time at the AERO Friedrichshafen, an international trade fair for general aviation.

AERO 2025 showed that there is great interest in sustainable technologies and innovative solutions for aviation. With over 32,000 visitors, 756 exhibitors from 38 countries and more than 500 journalists, the trade fair provided a good platform for exchange, networking and new ideas.

One of the topics at the fair was sustainable aviation. The PtX Lab Lausitz took the opportunity to present its work on greenhouse gas-neutral flying to an international audience.

At the joint stand of the state of Brandenburg, Dr Harry Lehmann, head of the PtX Lab, and aviation experts Vivek Rana and Niyanta Shetye provided information about current studies, projects and solutions for a more climate-friendly future for aviation.

Commitment to the energy transition in aviation

An intensive exchange took place with representatives of the Cottbus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Economic Development Agency Brandenburg and the Berlin-Brandenburg Aerospace Alliance. Insights from scientific work were discussed in the dialogue.

The participation of colleagues in the conference ‘Infrastructures of the Future at Airfields and Airports’ on 10 April was also informative. The focus here was on the challenges and opportunities of electrification in general aviation and the future viability of airports.

The PtX Lab Lausitz was able to position itself as a competent point of contact for questions relating to eSAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuels) and the market ramp-up of greenhouse gas-neutral fuels – and thus strengthen its commitment to more climate-friendly aviation.
